HERM ALLEN, The People's Coach
He is a first generation college student, from Cleveland, Ohio, with over 16 years of career and student development experience. In addition to the above mentioned positions, he has also worked as a student development counselor, assistant director of residence life, tutor coordinator and has taught courses on leadership development, college skills and job search strategies. Herm has experience at public, private, four-year and two-year institutions of higher learning. ************************************** “...above the mark. It was intimidating because, now, he had to live up to his performance in high school and before. Herm was always near the top of his class - valedictorian in junior high (now called middle school) and he finished fourth in his high school class. With this in mind, he was determined to be successful at the college level. As a college freshman he got off to a great start. His first two terms (instead of semesters) saw him come out with a 3.0 GPA. However, that soon changed because at the end of the next Fall (sophomore) term he had fallen to a 2.1 GPA. To put this in perspective, in a year and a half he went from fourth in his graduating class to a candidate for academic dismissal.
